NURTURING CURIOSITY, CONFIDENCE AND KINDNESS
Kindergarten at Thomas’s Battersea (Age 3-4)
From September 2026, our Kindergarten moved directly onto the Thomas’s Battersea site on Battersea High Street, taking our offering from 3 to 13.
Kindergarten children enjoy the best of both worlds with a self-contained early years setting alongside an early introduction to the Thomas’s Battersea school facilities. Our pupils follow a carefully structured, play-based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum designed to build confidence, early literacy, numeracy and independence. Beyond their dedicated classrooms, pupils regularly access the broader campus, including prep school outdoor play areas, the Lower School Library, and specialist co-curricular spaces, while enjoying play facilities shared with Reception pupils that are kept thoughtfully separate from older year groups to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
Early Years in the Heart of Battersea
At Thomas’s Battersea, Kindergarten marks the start of an inspiring educational journey. Situated in bespoke, purpose-built facilities on our main school campus, our Kindergarten offering combines a nurturing Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting with full access to the resources, specialist teaching, and vibrant community of our prep school.
The Kindergarten includes two classes with a maximum of 15 children in each class.

Brand-New, Purpose-Built Onsite Facilities
Following a full summer renovation prior to opening in September 2026, our Kindergarten environment is thoughtfully designed for young learners. The space features two light-filled, custom-designed classrooms, each equipped with integrated child-friendly facilities. Bi-folding doors create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow leading into a dedicated play space designed by Playcubed, complete with vibrant wall murals, outdoor equipment, and secure fencing connected to the existing Reception play area.
Additionally, pupils benefit from direct access to a brand-new Lower School Library on the Ground Floor.

Drop off is between 0800 and 0820, and pick up is between 1515 and 1545. The Kindergarten generally follows the same Timings of the Day as The Lower School.
Wraparound care is offered at an extra charge with limited places available. Wraparound care runs until 1700 on Monday to Thursday.
Kindergarten pupils will be expected to attend a minimum of three full days and two mornings (ending at 1145). Optional afternoon sessions are on Thursday and Friday afternoons.
Families have the option to purchase a hot lunch for their child to have in the Dining Hall, or bring in a nut-free packed lunch. Please see the Food page or the School Fees page for further information.
Admissions and Enquiries
Offers for Kindergarten places are made 18 months prior to entry, with priority given to siblings of current Thomas’s Battersea pupils.
Joining Thomas’s Battersea at Kindergarten provides a guaranteed place into Reception the following year, removing the need for re-application or further entry assessments. This uninterrupted pathway ensures children transition smoothly into the Lower School alongside familiar friends and environments.
